HI Everyone, Have not been on forum for a while I have had a virus which i could not shake off could not get out of bed on top of RA!!! anyway remember i have said before that I was having some lung function tests as my breathing was quite heavy and struggling well I was all geared up for a big drama as things normally are for me! and it turns out I have underlying asthma which i never new i had!! well thank god it wasnt more serious. So im back at work now after a sickie couple of weeks and my motivation has got up and gone! i cant bothered of all this fulltime work struggling through the day may have to look into less hours. and as i have been housebound forgot i was running low on my mxt so need to make and emergency dash to the drs for a prescription, why is it they only give you 32 pills i do go for my blood tests its so annoying. as if we dont have anything better to do!!!

Hi Claire - I'm sorry to hear you are still struggling but glad to hear you have an explanation for your breathing problems. I understand how difficult it is coping with the daily grind of working when you feel like this. Do you have any leave you could book to give yourself something to look forward to? I hope you manage to get the prescription. Will be thinking of you.

Hi Claire,

Sorry you have been sufferring and I understand what you feel like re work. I have been off since 23rd March and
the longer I am off I cannot see me returning. The thought terrifies me.

I had a management insurance job which is extremely stressful and does not help the RA at all . Time will tell.

good luck and hope you feel better.

Hi Claire

hope you feel better soon I too know the felling getting up early to get ready for work and then the stress the day brings you and then home good luck with the shorter hrs and take Julies idea if you have any leave book it and you will then have a goal.
Hope you feel better soon

Hi Claire, glad it was asthma and nothing more serious. It seems alot of people are suffering from this now, I take pumps for this too. As for work, I work full time too childminding, its getting really hard now. I did try to work part time at the school where I was previously, but the head teacher said no chance!! Definitely look into cutting down your hours, take care, and hope you can sort something out

Hello there Claire,

Hope you have some good support for the asthma symptoms?

It's sounding like you may need to reassess career / work options. I'm doing this too at present, my gp is great help, dont know what i would do without her - keeping me so well supported - we had a very thought provoking conversation at my last appointment about health vs wealth - putting things into perspective, not easy tho' - fear of the unknown, lots of things to weigh up......
Family / special friends supportive too,

Hope u have good support systems in place - forum is great support, keep posting Claire xx So glad we got the forum ~ makes the RA journey bit less bumpy,

Take care, virus likely still within your system - now you are back at work, just wondering - maybe you could use annual leave hours to shorten your working week a little for a few weeks?

Keep posting, speak soon,

Love Liz xxxxx

Hi Clare

Good to see you back with us again!

Pleased you have an answer to the breathing problems. Have they given you an inhaler/antihistamines? (don't think that's the correct spelling but what the heck!)

Lizzie has a good idea - using annual leave for a while to shorten the working week.

Take care

Love Jeanxxxxx

hi claire

my sister has had a lot of these done as her lupus effects her lungs. she has something called shrinking lung and that is really horrid so I am pleased that you dont have that. Asthma is not too clever either though is it? Are they giving you meds to help? Did I read somewhere that MTX and Asthma is to be flagged with the rheumatology team?

Best mention it just in case!
